There are many species and mutations of Lovebirds, all fun to play with, though some may be loud and 'nippy'. They are small, active, happy and make faithful friends. It's a bit of a myth that Lovebirds must be paired - they will bond strongly if paired, but will easily adapt to bonding as strongly with their human companion.
