Macaws

The most impressive of parrots, Macaws are usually large - as much as 40" , with the mini's being half that. Most large Macaws are endangered in the wild. They can be demanding and persistant, and need lots of stimulation and activity, but can also be among the most endearing and rewarding of parrots.

Blue & Gold - love attention; good talkers; long tailed
Buffon - striking; The "Great Green Macaw"

Green-winged - large; well behaved if rules established
Hahn's (mini) - small; gentle pets if hand-fed
Hyacinth - largest of parrots; endangered
Illiger (mini)
Military - nice dispositions; 'blush' when excited
Noble (mini) - similar to Hahn's
Red Fronted - med; striking coloration
Scarlet - good pets, but need attention; not one to be mostly caged
Severe (mini) - great companions
Yellow-collared (mini) - charmers
